Actress Annabelle Gurwitch has appeared in scores of TV shows, plays and movies -- everything from "Miami Vice" to The Cable Guy. But she had always dreamed of working with her idol, Woody Allen. And she finally got her chance in an off-Broadway show -- except shortly after she started, Allen fired her. The experience was so traumatic for Gurwitch that she decided to write a book exploring people's experiences with job termination. The book,
Fired! Tales of the Canned, Canceled, Downsized and Dismissed, is a compilation of stories from people about their many different experiences getting fired.
Gurwitch spoke to us about the stigma involved in being fired and how to get past it.
